1. Where did Paula get her inspiration for the Public Theater Identity typography?
She was looking through the American Wood Type R page and noticed the range of weight of the letters and felt it connected with New York. 2. Why did Paula start painting and what does she paint? Paula Scher started painting because she enjoyed the feeling of creating things and was said to have a high quantitive iq.. She paints the the U.S. in different ways, like zip codes and counties. 3. You have to be in a state of what to design according to Paula? In a state of play. 4. With the Citi logo Paula said what was the difficult part of the job? Persuading a million people to use the logo. 5. What do you like or not like about Paula's work (use example)? The dark posters with Serif after her Noise Funk posters. 6. How do you think differently about typography now that you have seen this video? I've never been very invested in typography. I knew to some extent that it mattered, that some fonts felt nicer to me, but I see now that there is much more to the concept. Typography allows someone to introduce feelings and ideas before the words are read. I suppose now I will be more aware of the message that the designer had intended.
